Bright Eyes Plymouth in new location assisted by SBA 504 loan from Centier Bank and Indiana Statewide CDC
The new location for Bright Eyes Plymouth is larger and easier to find, says Dr. Allison Garmon O.D., the owner and one of two optometrists at Bright Eyes Plymouth. The practice is now at 333 East Jefferson in Plymouth.

Dr. Garmon bought and converted the building into a modern optometry office with financing from the U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loan program. Centier Bank and Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation provided the loan.

Indiana Statewide CDC works with local Indiana lenders to issue SBA 504 loans. The loans help small business owners buy real estate, buildings and equipment. SBA 504 loans offer small business owners long-term, fixed-rate financing similar to commercial loan terms commonly available for large companies. SBA 504 loans also generally allow borrowers to pay a below-market down payment.

Bryan Olund of Centier Bank says, "Dr. Garmon was able to complete the project while preserving cash for her business and lock in a very competitive fixed rate. Her new location is bigger and beautifully renovated. It's perfect for her growing business."

Dr. Garmon purchased Bright Eyes Plymouth in 2019 from its previous owner and optometrist. Her staff includes one other optometrist and six support personnel. Now that Bright Eyes Plymouth is operating in its new location, Dr. Garmon says, "The SBA 504 loan allowed me to build the practice of my dreams!"

Dr. Garmon says Bright Eyes Plymouth offers comprehensive eye care services. "These include exams, not only for glasses and contact lenses, but we also manage medical conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye changes and cataracts. We also sell prescription glasses and sunglasses."

Dr. Garmon grew up in Plymouth and graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry.

Background:
Indiana Statewide CDC has approved over $798 million of financing for more than 1,650 Indiana companies since 1983, creating or saving more than 30,000 jobs, and is the most prolific CDC in Indiana. These projects represent more than $2.0 billion in expansion financing for Indiana businesses.

Executive Director Jean Wojtowicz says, "SBA 504 loans help small businesses grow because borrowing companies can put as little as 10 percent down and receive a low, fixed interest rate for as long as 25 years. The SBA guarantees bonds sold privately to finance a portion of the loan. With the guarantee, we can offer more favorable loan rates than generally available to small businesses."

Centier Bank (www.centier.com) serves Indiana with complete banking and financial planning services. Centier has been owned by the same family for more than 127 years.

Bright Eyes Plymouth (www.brighteyes.vision) provides optometry services and vision care in the Plymouth community. Bright Eyes Plymouth doctors offer comprehensive vision examinations and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases, conditions, and problems.
