Mark Anthony's Pizzeria is family-run and family-friendly in Fishers
For Mark Anthony Porretti, the family business has been pizza. Lots of it, pie-after-pie served up piping hot in restaurants all over central Indiana. Porretti is continuing the tradition with a new restaurant in Fishers. This time, his name is in the sign over the door that reads, Mark Anthony’s Pizzeria.
Open only a few weeks, Mark Anthony's Pizzeria at 116th & Olio Road in Fishers is already a popular family eatery.
Lynx Capital Corporation is providing startup funding and a working capital loan to Mark Anthony's. Lynx Capital opens doors of opportunity for minority-owned firms. It is a privately owned company established to provide growth capital to companies owned by racial minorities. Since it began in 1991, Lynx has provided $12.8 million to 62 companies.
Mark Anthony's Pizzeria is a mom & pop business. Mark is chief baker and proprietor, and his wife Claudia is president of the company in addition to her duties as executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana.
Fresh dough made every four hours and other fresh ingredients promise an Italian taste treat at Mark Anthony's. Baked calzones and grinders, plus salads, Pepsi products and Little Jimmy's Italian Ice help complete the menu.
Some of Mark's new customers may recall seeing him during the past 20 years in one of the other pizza restaurants in which he has participated either as part owner or a member of the family. Some of the locations included Luca Pizza in Washington Square Mall, Enzo Pizzeria in the Keystone Fashion Mall, Giorgio’s in downtown Indianapolis, Porretti's Pizza in the Fair Oaks Mall in Columbus, and Giancarlo’s Pizza in the Indianapolis downtown Hyatt Regency.
More recently, he's helped train the staffs at Bella Pizzeria in the Clay Terrace and Amore Pizza in Zionsville's Boone Village Shopping Center.
Backing up Mark is Pablo Miguel Montanez. He is the assistant manager at Mark Anthony's. He’s worked with Porretti for the past five years.
